Collages
6. Portrait Collages
Students have used magazines to find pictures of faces which they have then altered by cutting away pieces and adding layers of uniquely detailed images. They also created a background from layering text cut from magazines. These were due December 20th.
7. Surrealist Landscape Collages
Students will layer images cut from magazines in order to create a landscape image that is unique and somewhat bizarre, similar to a surrealist painting. Students are encouraged to be creative while also respecting the layers related to landscapes (background, middle ground and foreground), as well as appropriate proportion of focal objects depending on the layer they are found in. Due Jan 18th

Colour & Perspective
5. 3D Triangles
Students explored how to create different values of the same colour by altering how firmly they press their pencils. They then used this concept to produce 3 separate values of a single colour. Next they learned how to draw a 3D perspective triangle. They then combined these 2 skills together to produce triangles that appear to pop off of the page.

Cubism Portraits
3. Frankenstein

4. Self-Portrait
Next we created self-portraits in the style of Cubism. Students identified 4 main criteria for "good" cubist portraits and followed those guidelines to create our masterpieces.
The Cubist Self-Portraits were due November 16th - if incomplete, use Student Success at 2nd lunch to finish.
